The New Wave Zafiri apartment hotel is located in the heart of Paleochora, right below the Venetian fortress, the “Fortezza”, and about 50 metres from the sea and the longest sandy beach in the area.

It’s a small family business run by the Belivanakis family since 1994. The family lives in the same building and will be happy to help you with any questions.

Zafiri has the advantage of being located on a small back road and is therefore very quiet even though it is only 100 metres away from a supermarket and less than 150 metres from the centre of Paleochora. The hotel is one of the few in the area that has a mature garden with trees and flowers; a natural source of cool and shade where you can have a peaceful breakfast or relax away from the afternoon sun.

Your car is safe on the private parking space opposite the hotel.

About Paleochora

Paleochora is a small town in Chania prefecture. It is located 77 km south of Chania, on the southwest coast of Crete and is built on a small peninsula which juts out into the Libyan sea.

Paleochora was discovered by the hippies in the early 1970’s and remained a well-loved destination for young travellers until well into the 80’s when it gradually became more popular with independent holiday-makers who wanted to experience Crete away from the tourist mainstream.

Nowadays Paleochora is a charming small town, with a big history.
